1. Referring to Hot Hubs
While the majority of referrals to the Hot Hubs are appropriate, there are a small number of patients who could have been more appropriately seen by their GP Practice.
Your help would be appreciated if you could ensure that only patients who have been triaged, are symptomatic and who you are unable to see remotely are referred to a Hot Hub.
When you do refer patients please remind them that they will not get a definite diagnosis of COVID at a Hot Hub, for this they will need to book a test via online via the national government website or call 119.
2. Protect yourself, your family and our patients from flu this winter
This year, due to the potential impact of flu and COVID-19 circulating at the same time, it’s more important than ever that we act to protect ourselves, our teams, our families and patients from getting flu.
Read the letter from NHS England and Improvement urging all frontline staff to get the flu vaccination this year.

5. Hands Face Space Campaign
HM Government has launched Hands. Face. Space, a new campaign that urges the public to continue to wash their hands, cover their face and make space to control infection rates. The spread of coronavirus, particularly in enclosed spaces is shown in a new film, produced with experts in the field, which highlights the risk in simple, everyday interactions. The campaign will run across TV, radio, print, out of home, social and digital display advertising. GP practices can help to spread the message to patients by sharing campaign materials through their channels.
6. West Midlands Cervical Screening Services:
Electronic Requesting – System Updates
In preparation to transitioning to Electronic Requesting for HPV cervical screening tests, RWT are working with your GP systems suppliers to update the configuration in your system. Over the next few weeks you will notice a new link appear for within your test request options titled ‘West Midlands Cytology Service BCPS’. This is the link that will be used when we move to e-requesting to request a test, you may also be prompted with a log in box requesting you add your username/password. This information will be provided to you when we implement within your practice. I appreciate that this may be an inconvenience in the meantime so we suggest that you that you deactivate in the background within your EMIS system. – Please see attached ‘Deactivating EMIS GP Interop Guidance' until we are ready to implement.

The aim of the programme is to support a range of health and care professions, to develop their own population health skills through designing, implementing, testing and evaluating a small-scale health improvement project within their sphere of practice.
Participants will be supported remotely via an Action Learning Set to utilise the PHE developed toolkit for Embedding Public Health into Clinical Services to identify ideas and test public health interventions in their own field of practice.
